26/05/2026 10:58 Thank you for your report, we are aware of the increase in St George’s and Union flags being put up across the borough and throughout other areas in England. We understand that flags are seen as symbols of national pride and used by many as a sign of patriotism, but we also recognise that in some circumstances, they can make people feel uncomfortable. However, Hampshire County Council is responsible for roads, roundabouts and things like street lighting and have advised that they will consider removing unauthorised items placed on their property  as part of routine highway maintenance, but that they will also remove anything immediately that poses a risk to public safety. You can report anything to the county council at https://www.hants.gov.uk/transport/highways/report-a-problem
